Palacios is internationally recognized for his innovative work integrating Afro-traditional, contemporary, and urban dance forms. This workshop offers an opportunity to engage with the rich cultural and artistic frameworks that inform his practice.

About Rafael Palacios
Rafael Palacios, a Colombian choreographer and dancer, specializes in Afro-traditional, contemporary, and urban dance. Inspired by experiences in Africa and Europe, he founded the Sankofa Company, showcasing works globally in countries like Colombia, France, Canada, and Brazil. He has led training programs for dancers, teachers, and children and served as Colombia's National Councilor of Dance (2009–2011).Palacios won the 2008 National Dance Award for San Pacho… Blessed! and received UN recognition in 2010 for promoting Afrodescendant social inclusion. He directed performances for the 2012 Summit of the Americas and choreographed the 2013 Cali World Games opening ceremony.
